No Time of year Like the Holidays

There is no time of year like the holidays. During this holiday season, there are plenty of sports that you can the family can gather around the fire and enjoy. From football to football (soccer), the list of events this year goes on and on, and we at the forge are here to give you some of the ones we find interesting 

College Football Bowls and Playoff

after many ups and downs, the end of this college football season happens on January 9th of this upcoming year. The playoffs have already been set and are going to make for an interesting slate of games. In addition, there are plenty of bowl games that are looking to be very interesting and exciting.

Ending of the regular season NFL 

On January 8th, the last game of the NFL regular season will happen, issuing in what is sure to be an interesting set of playoff teams. The chiefs may seem to be the favorites, but they were just recently upset by the bangles, going to show that this year anyone can come out on top.

College Basketball 

The season has just gotten off to a hot start with multiple quick upsets already happening. At this rate, we are in store for a great season with new and upcoming schools coming to challenge the already-established blue-blooded programs. 

GMC basketball 

While school might be out, the grind is not. Your blazer girls and boys will have plenty of games for you to come and watch while on the holiday. With the help of the pit crew, we hope that our student section is crazier than ever.

Hockey

Hockey may be the most popular in Canada but we still keep tabs on the local sports teams. The South Carolina Stingrays sitting at an 8-4 win-to-loss record and a 57.10 win percentage. 

FIFA World Cup Qatar

World cup year is finally upon us. With round 16 in play, who will take home the crown? 

 

December 3-6 – The World Cup round of 16 starts 

December 9-10 – The World Cup quarter-finals

December 10 – The Championship resumes

December 13-14 – World Cup semi-finals

 

While this break may be about giving, there is nothing more special than being able to get around the family and watch some good sports. We at the forge wish you the best of luck and many good games.
