How do GMC Students Feel About Valentine’s Day?

It’s that time of year again. Love is in the air, but also in many other forms of matter. Chocolates, cards, balloons, and more! Yes, Valentine’s Day is here. Recently, we sent out a survey to find out how GMC students felt about the day. Here are some of the answers:

“I’m pretty excited I guess. It’s coming regardless.”

“Valentine’s Day is either fantastic or awful and a majority say awful because of lack of love, but let’s be honest, no matter who you are you are always loved by someone.”

“I feel that it’s a day where all forms of love can be celebrated. While it makes me feel single as heck when I see a happy couple giving each other gifts, they should be able to celebrate together. It also reminds us of the love we have for others, besides a romantic one. You can celebrate your friends and family too.”

“I love it, I get to spoil my lady.”

“I feel like valentine’s day is an important day, that we use in order to show how much we love each other. Although we have a day dedicated to this, I do believe that it should be something people should do every day. Not go out on dates, or for food, I just think that people should love each other effortlessly, regardless of the day. Love is something that shouldn’t have a price on it. It’s not something you can just buy in the store. It’s something that you need to learn, and something that takes time.”

“A waste of time and money. Presents and gifts should not represent the love you have for someone regardless of the relationship. Nor should love be represented through commercial products and such. It’s all in the feeels.”

“Valentine’s Day is either fantastic or awful and a majority say awful because of lack of love, but let’s be honest, no matter who you are you are always loved by someone.”

“I love it, not because of the romance aspect, but in the eating chocolates and getting little gifts that aren’t significant at all throughout the day”

“hm… this so called valentines day makes me feel like I ate a turkey sandwich that has been sitting out in the 97 degree car for 2 weeks.”

“i feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.”

We want to thank everyone who took the time to answer the survey! We hope everyone has a good February 14th. Happy Valentine’s Day!
