As you see people walk in and out of the art room all day and sometimes after school.
You may wonder what people are putting their creative thoughts to and what it means for them to have others see their art.
I talked with Mr. McCullom, the art teacher here at GMC, and senior Natalia Meeks, the art club manager, and they both said something along the lines of how they enjoy seeing teenagers with a passion to express themselves using colors and it turns into art.
McCullom told me, “It’s intriguing and fun to see art club as a place where you can feel inspired by people to do what you love”
Kids that are in art clubs or not can agree when they say the art at GMC is truly beautiful. On showcase nights they really get to explore different types of art and show it to guests of GMC.
Natalia Meeks also comments on the art club saying, “It was founded in my freshman year, it’s very nice to see how creative everything is”.
She also implies on how art is important, “it provides people a good way to express themself”
Other people do agree with Meeks that art is a very important thing, it is a way to express how you feel, but also to show and to tell stories.
