GMC’s Veteran’s Day Breakfast

 

GMC’s Veteran’s Day Breakfast was this past Friday, November 12.

 

At the event, GMC Veterans were invited to enjoy a meal provided by Waffle House with their students and family.

 

The GMC band honored Veterans with several traditional songs that represent each branch of the Armed Forces: the Air Force, the Coast Guard, the Navy, the Marine Corps, and the Army.

 

After the outstanding performance, Mr. Whatley, a Sergeant for the Marine Corps, gave a moving speech about the significance of Veteran’s Day.

 

“That oath… that people would lay down their lives to protect the Constitution of the United States, the people of the United States, the rights, liberties, freedoms, privileges that you enjoy every day as an American citizen… when you thank a veteran, that’s what I want you to keep in mind.”
